Join us at the Stanley Museum of Art on September 8 at 1:00 pm for our Sundays with the Docents tour where Stanley docents create unique tours to share with our audiences throughout the year. On Grandparents' Day, tour collection highlights with docent, Laurie Zaiger, and her granddaughter, P.J. Huch, as they discuss selected art works. They will share how a child and an adult each experience artworks and what they can learn from each other. Celebrate Grandparents' Day by joining this special tour and let's talk together about art.

Laurie Zaiger grew up in the Iowa City of the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s doing handwork, sewing, and making art from found materials. She earned her BA and MA in art education at the University of Iowa and taught art at City High School and Mount Vernon High School. She also taught and supervised art education student teachers at the University of Iowa. Now retired and reinvented, she continues to make art and to provide art making opportunities. She is a docent at the Stanley Museum of Art and volunteers in the community for a variety of non-profits, including UAY, Shelter House, Riverside Theatre, and 5224GOOD.

This tour is part of the Sundays with the Docents program. Walk-ins are welcome on the tour, but using the sign up is strongly recommended as tours are capped at 20 participants.
